Patricia de niemeyer Kahane

I am a diehard American who was born in Brazil. Although crazy for fried chicken and summer blueberry pie, a lot of what I am comes from my birth country especially when it relates to food and exercise. The Brazilian woman is in love with her body, loves to eat healthy and shies away from fast food. Exercise is a big part of her life regardless of age.  When out for dinner she most likely will order a grilled chicken breast with a green salad or veggie. Dessert will be fruit which is a constant on a Brazilian menu. She loves her papaya with a touch of lime, her pineapple with mint or some ice cold mango nicely sliced. The big secret is that Brazilian food is heavily seasoned by the abundant use of spices and aromatics so very little fat is used. There is emphasis on fresh ingredients and wholesome products. It is that style of cuisine that I will share with you: healthy, easy, and delicious.

We have been questioning our diets for quite a while. We have at the same time been coached to love our bodies regardless of its size. In my view it doesn’t go together: if you love something you should treat it with care. Our bodies are there to take us places, to help us have fun, to guide us thru life. If you are driving a Masseratti would you fill its tank with regular gas? Our bodies are our Masserattis and deserve the best fuel: wholesome food and an array of nutrients. This is my mission: help you eat well and enjoy all the foods that are good for you.

Our menus will be complex in taste but simple on preparation. All the tools for easy entertaining that will transform you in to a skilled hostess will be available week by week helping you master that world of wonders that it is our kitchen.  Gather your family and friends for many healthy pleasures!
